The first Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 rolled off the manufacturing line just 6 short months ago, and it seems that Ford has already decided to give it some additional standard equipment. Thanks to some leaked documents on the Mustang enthusiast site mustang6g.com, we now know exactly what to expect in 2017 from Ford’s monster pony car.
New standard performance and handling features for the 2017 Shelby GT350 include an aluminum tower-to-tower brace, a continuously controlled MagneRide damping system, and transmission and differential coolers. The Track package is now gone; it has been replaced by the Electronics package, which includes SYNC 3, dual-zone climate control and SiriusXM radio. The R Electronics package adds a rearview camera, auxiliary gauges, and a tire inflator and sealant kit. In addition, the Technology package is now replaced by the Convenience package, which includes 6-way power heated and cooled leather front seats, voice-activated navigation and a universal garage-door opener.
If these performance and technology upgrades aren’t enough, Ford also made some changes as far as available design options. New design features include a deck-lid spoiler and three new exterior colors: Lightning Blue, Grabber Blue and Ruby Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat. The Competition Orange and Deep Impact Blue paint choices are now gone, but with all the new available options, we’re sure you can find a 2017 Shelby GT350 that will not only stop traffic, but leave it in your rearview mirror.
