2018 Genesis G80: 5 Reasons to Buy – Video

If you’re looking for information on a newer Genesis G80, we’ve published an updated review: 2019 Genesis G80 Review

If you are tired of the same old luxury choices, then you may want to consider the 2018 Genesis G80. Check out these five reasons to stop waiting and switch over to a G80.

Engine Choices

So Genesis labels the G80 trim levels according to the engine size. For example, the base trim level is labeled the 3.8, which is a 3.8-liter V6 good for 311 horsepower. The top trim level is the 5.0 Ultimate, coming in with a commanding 420 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. For more of a performance-inspired drive, go for the 3.3T Sport, which is rated at 365 hp coming from a 3.3-liter turbocharged V6.

Smart Technology

Inside the G80, there is a standard 8-inch touchscreen, however you can upgrade to an available 9.2-in screen. Connecting your compatible smartphone is easy and functional with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Buyers will also enjoy the difference in sound quality when they opt for the upgraded 17-speaker Lexicon premium audio system. See the 2018 Genesis G80 models for sale near you

Impressive Design

The design team for the G80 really hit it out of the park. There are standard LED running lights, a hexagonal grille and a stylish roofline. Getting you around are standard 18-in alloys, although the higher trim levels 5.0 Ultimate and 3.3T Sport receive 19-in alloys.

Premium Touches

The Genesis G80 comes loaded up out of the gate in base form. However, like most luxury brands, you can opt for all sorts of upgrades and packages. The Premium package, for example, gives you a nice panoramic sunroof and goes on from there. The Ultimate package builds on the Premium package with fine touches like matte-finish wood, and a full-color, head-up display.

AWD Option

There is a certain level of confidence you gain when you drive with all-wheel drive. The available AWD offers a multi-mode setting so that you can adjust to your desire. Overall, the AWD G80 enhances stability and, compared to other luxury cars, it has a higher torque distribution.

Autotrader Says

We didn’t even get to mention the starting price of less than $42,000! Take the 2018 Genesis G80 for a test spin, and we look forward to saying: "We told you so."
