If you’re looking for information on a newer Honda Accord, we’ve published an updated review: 2019 Honda Accord Review
The popular Honda Accord has long been a "go-to" sedan for years. But how well does the new Accord work in the real world?
Thankfully, Honda made all the right moves. With its new look, improved tech and more-luxurious interior, the 2018 Honda Accord doesn’t disappoint. The new Accord is lower, wider and has a more upscale look.
Chrome tip dual exhaust, optional 19-inch wheels and sleek LEDs give it some edge. Right away, you’ll notice it’s also more fun to drive, and the interior is very roomy.
There’s the option of a powerful 1.5-liter or 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. Both engines provide plenty of power to merge into high-speed traffic. At the same time, Honda’s all-new sedan uses noise-cancelling technology, and, as a result, this is the quietest Accord ever made. See the 2018 Honda Accord models for sale near you
High-quality materials give the cabin a more distinctive vibe, and we especially like the heated and ventilated seats with 12-way power adjustments on the driver’s side, so you can get nice and comfortable during road trips. Keep your passengers happy with plenty of legroom, headroom and available heated rear seats.
The trunk is large enough to hold all the family gear and luggage. There’s even a split fold-down pass-through feature for larger items.
We also noticed there are quite a few cool details incorporated into the dash, like the electronic gear shifter, the color-coded climate control knobs and the near-field communication or NFC, which lets you pair your phone just by tapping the dashboard. And everyone can stay logged on thanks to available USB ports and a mobile hot spot.
We also liked that Honda included Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, so you can seamlessly transition from your phone to the 8-in touchscreen. And there’s a ton you can do with the Accord remotely. Just download the HondaLink app to do things like start the car remotely, adjust the climate controls or even unlock the doors.
As for safety, the Honda Sensing driver-assist suite is standard on all Accords. Popular features like road-departure mitigation and adaptive cruise control are smooth and easy to use once you get used to them.
Overall, the 2018 Honda Accord’s sleek, new look, impressive tech and upscale cabin should draw in a new generation of drivers, adding to the millions of Accord loyalists already on the road.
