Whether you’re a sports car fan or not, it’s hard not to like a Porsche, or at least respect the brand. The 4-door version certainly includes that unique and amazing performance factor, and here is a look at the 2018 Porsche Panamera.
The Panamera does offer an additional new body style, the Sport Turismo which has a wagon-type design. In either form, though, they come very well equipped. There are standard, beautiful 20-in wheels, LED’s, a 2-way adaptive rear spoiler and even a dual exhaust system.
Very few can even remotely compete with German engineering. This is a Porsche brand, so of course there are a few engine options including some hybrid choice. Middle of the road is the twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 rated at 440 hp. The top twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8, rated at 550 hp, certainly provides an exhilarating driving experience. But even the base turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 produces a very capable 330 hp.
Want a driving experience like no other? Porsche’s PDK transmission is one-of-a-kind and the Panamera’s 8-speed PDK engine is super impressive. They offer a choice of rear or AWD and the 330-hp engine does zero to 60 in 5.4 seconds — 4.2 seconds with the 440-hp engine. The top 550-hp engine hits zero to 60 in a flash of 3.6 seconds. If you need even more, the Sport Crono package gives you an even sportier tuning of the engine and chassis
Inside the Panamera is a 12.3-in touchscreen. The massive screen has a Wi-Fi hotspot and a slew of amazing technology. One upgrade to consider is the powerful 14-speaker Bose sound system. There are also plenty of available options, like quad-zone climate control and rear seats with ventilation and massage.
Two Rear Seats
Most sedans seat three or at least offer space for three passengers. The Panamera’s middle seat is unfortunately an upgrade. It would be nice if it came on the long list of standard features it already has.
If you are ready for a legitimate premium driving experience, the 2018 Porsche Panamera is highly recommended.
