If you’re looking for the ultimate truck, you’ve found it. What you see here is a Terradyne Gurkha, which, yes, is an actual vehicle. It’s offered for sale by a firm called Reserve Auto Group in the Dallas area, and it’s one of the craziest trucks you’ll ever see.
The basic overview is that this is a 2015 Ford F-450 chassis modified into what looks like a military attack vehicle. It’s crazy looking, it’s militaristic and it’s armored — and it’s very, very expensive. Part of the reason is the crazy styling, and part of the reason is the upgrades — items like ballistic glass, a huge winch, bead lock wheels and massive interior and exterior revisions help justify the price.
Of course, there’s also the fun that comes with rolling around in a vehicle that makes you look like you’re ready to do battle, meaning it’s far more aggressive and ridiculous than any other pickup or SUV out there today. And you’re unlikely to ever see another one of these, as Terradyne makes very, very few vehicles, only sold to a select few shoppers with very specific tastes.
Not surprisingly, this vehicle ended up in Texas, and it’s listed for sale with 10,000 miles for $287,000. That’s big money for a vehicle based on a Ford F-450, but it’s cheap if you consider it to be sort of a custom-built, luxury, modern-day Hummer — and in today’s SUV craze, pulling up somewhere in this gives you the ultimate credibility.
