If you’ve ever wondered how cheaply you can buy a running and driving Chevy Corvette, well, here’s your answer: This 1990 Chevy Corvette is the single cheapest Corvette listed for sale on Autotrader. It’s located in Cleveland, and it’s offered by a private seller for just $3,500.
I’ll start with the obviously bad stuff, which would be the car’s cosmetics: It looks dirty and worn, precisely as you’d probably expect it to look, considering it’s 27 years old, it’s traveled more than 160,000 miles, and, well, it’s available for sale for less than $4,000. I strongly suspect it doesn’t exactly feel like a high performer when you stomp on the throttle, either.
Nonetheless, the seller mentions that the car has a few benefits — including the fact that it runs and drives just fine. In fact, the listing notes that the seller "just took it to Toronto and back without a hitch," and further explains that the seller has been using the car as a "reliable and fun daily driver for the 17 years I have owned it." Admit it: That’s an impressive ownership history — and it’s no surprise the seller has decided it’s time to move it along.
The Carfax report backs up the seller’s claim of long-term ownership, noting that the car was originally in California before the seller bought it and moved it to Ohio in the late 1990s. While it’s primarily been serviced in Ohio, there are Carfax reports from other locations — including an oil change in Syracuse, New York, and new brakes in Rhode Island — suggesting the seller has indeed driven this car quite a bit.
Maybe more interesting than all this is the sheer number of cheap Corvettes currently listed on Autotrader: There are 18 listings under $4,000, 42 listings under $5,000 and an amazing (to me) 526 Corvette models currently listed on Autotrader for under ten grand. A Corvette, it seems, may not be as far out of your budget as you’re probably thinking. Find a 1990 Chevrolet Corvette for sale
