The checkered flag may be car racing’s ultimate prize, but the 2022 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray IMSA GTLM Championship Edition is decked out in yellow to celebrate the sports car’s impressive on-track performance last year.
Just 1,000 Corvette Stingray IMSA GTLM Championship Editions will be built to commemorate Manufacturers, Drivers, and Team titles awarded to Corvette Racing during the 2020 International Motor Sports Association (IMSA).
Race fans will note the Accelerate Yellow paint, though the package will also be available in a comparatively subtle gray with yellow accents. Other special features include a high-wing rear spoiler, yellow brake calipers behind black-finish alloy wheels, and additional black exterior trim. Inside, the cars feature a two-tone gray and yellow motif with bolstered seats, yellow seat belts, and an individually-numbered dashboard plaque. A custom car cover is included in the $6,595 package.
2022 Corvette Updates
The mid-engine sports car sees a few minor enhancements for the new year. Three new paint hues are joined by an optional low-profile rear spoiler and wider availability of a special front splitter.
Chevy says that engine power is unchanged from last year’s 490 to 495-horsepower rating (depending on exhaust type), but that the direct injection system that pumps fuel into the engine has been tweaked.
The 2022 Corvette starts at $62,195 including a mandatory destination charge, a hefty hike over the $60,995 Chevy asked for the least-expensive 2021 model. Find a Chevrolet Corvette for sale
