If you’re looking for information on a newer Ford Fusion, we’ve published an updated review: 2019 Ford Fusion Review
Despite the wide selection of vehicles these days, the reliable and popular midsize sedan class still has mass appeal. There are some really nice choices, with well-known favorites like the Accord and Camry, but here are five reasons to go with the 2018 Ford Fusion.
Inside the Fusion, we found it to have more of a luxury feel to it than a midsize sedan. We had sporty power-adjusting front seats that had heat. Want to go all the way? Opt for the available Luxury package, which gives you leather among many other premium touches.
Our Fusion Sport trim level has a unique grille up front and LED signature lighting. It also has performance touches like a rear spoiler, quad-tipped dual exhaust and 19-inch premium painted wheels. See the 2018 Ford Fusion models for sale near you
As far as technology goes, you’ll want to upgrade to the quicker SYNC3 system. There is also technology available like adaptive cruise control, and even an automated parking system. Another technology feature that stands out is the standard Ford MyKey. What it does is set some limits when handing the keys over to another driver, giving you some peace of mind.
The Fusion V6 Sport with all-wheel-drive 2.7-liter Eco-Boost is smooth on the highway and definitely quick through corners. Also available on certain trim levels is an all-wheel-drive option. The 2.0-liter Eco-Boost AWD returns 29 miles per gallon on the highway. That’s only a 2-mpg difference than the front-wheel drive, so it might be something you want to consider.
So the base Fusion has a decent 175 horsepower and returns 21 mpg in the city. Also keep in mind that there’s an array of Eco-Boost engines available, of which the top dog is the AWD 2.7-liter turbocharged V6 rated at a powerful 325 hp.
With a starting sticker of around $22,000 and an array of trim levels and engine choices, the 2018 Ford Fusion could be the midsize sedan that has everything you’re looking for.
