7 Best Used Nissans Under $10,000 for 2019

Nissan builds reliable, value-oriented vehicles. As a result, it isn’t hard to find a used Nissan loaded with good features that fits your personal needs, even if you’re on a budget. Here, we’ll outline seven great used Nissans available for anyone with a budget of around $10,000 or less.

2008-2013 Nissan Rogue

2008-2013 Nissan Rogue

The Rogue is one of the best selling compact SUVs on the market, and has been since it debuted way back in 2008. We like the Rogue for its spacious interior, available navigation system and good ride quality. Look for an SV model, which adds 17-in alloy wheels, a power adjustable driver’s seat and a 7-speaker Bose audio system. While we don’t like the Rogue’s rough continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), it does return decent fuel economy, earning 23 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway with front-wheel drive, or 22 mpg city/27 mpg hwy with all-wheel drive. Right now on Autotrader, there are over 1,000 2008-2013 Rogues listed for around $10,000. About 700 of these come with AWD. Find a Nissan Rogue for sale

2013-2018 Nissan Altima

2013-2018 Nissan Altima

Nissan’s long-running family sedan, the Altima, offers attractive styling cues and comfortable seats. Engine options are a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder making 180 horsepower or a 3.5-liter V6 putting out a healthy 270 hp. Four-cylinder models return 27 mpg city/29 mpg hwy, while the V6 returns 22 mpg city/32 mpg hwy. Like most Nissan products, both engines come mated to a CVT. There are currently around 400 2016-or-newer Nissan Altimas listed on Autotrader for around $10,000. Just about all of them are the basic 4-cylinder model. Expand your search back to 2013, and around 50 V6 options are on the table at the $10,000 mark. Find a Nissan Altima for sale

2011-2017 Nissan Leaf

2011-2017 Nissan Leaf

The all-electric Leaf is a great option for anyone looking for basic transportation for short trips. Early examples of the Leaf came with a battery good for around 73 miles of range, while in 2016, the Leaf gained a bigger battery, allowing for a range of up to 107 miles. The majority of Leafs you’ll find at the $10,000 price point though will be early 2011-2015 models with the smaller battery pack. Still, as a second vehicle or a commuter car, the Leaf makes a lot of sense. For fast-charging capability, look for a Leaf with the quick charge package, which was optional on the SV and standard on SL models. Buyers looking for a $10,000 Leaf have lots to choose from on Autotrader, with around 350 listed that would fit the bill. Find a Nissan Leaf for sale

2013-2017 Nissan Sentra

2013-2017 Nissan Sentra

One of the newer vehicles on this list of used Nissans, the Sentra is a compact sedan and offers safety, reliability and efficiency. The base engine in the Sentra is a 1.8-liter inline 4-cylinder making 130 hp and paired with either a 6-speed manual or a CVT. The Sentra was updated for 2016, gaining restyled front and rear ends, LED headlights, a new steering wheel and some other new features. A turbocharged NISMO model was introduced in 2017 and put out 188 hp, although few of these have depreciated down to the $10,000 mark. There are around 750 2016 and 2017 Sentras listed on Autotrader for around $10,000 or less. Open up your search to include model years as far back as 2013, when the seventh-generation Sentra was introduced, and the options are virtually endless. Find a Nissan Sentra for sale

2011-2016 Nissan Quest

2011-2016 Nissan Quest

The Quest is Nissan’s quirky people mover, and if you’re looking for a spacious, affordable Nissan for hauling the family around, this is it. With a bolder design than minivans offered by competitors like Toyota and Hyundai, the Quest offers a number of cool features like flat folding second and third-row seats, an available dual panoramic moonroof and a covered rear cargo well. The Quest comes powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine making 260 hp. Additional features available on the Quest include power sliding doors, Bluetooth connectivity, 3-zone climate control, a surround view monitor, a power folding third row seat and a Bose audio system. There are just over 100 examples of the 2011-2016 Nissan Quest listed on Autotrader for around $10,000. For more options, consider a third-generation Quest, which was sold from 2004 to 2009, most of which have now depreciated down to the $10,000 mark. Find a Nissan Quest for sale

2005-2015 Nissan Xterra

2005-2015 Nissan Xterra

The Xterra is a truck-based SUV and is a great alternative to the comparable, yet more expensive Toyota 4Runner. Offering similar packaging to the 4Runner and built on a platform shared with the Frontier, a used Xterra is great for anyone looking to get off-road, as it comes with a true low-range 4-wheel drive system and a solid rear axle, which allows for greater articulation than what you find in car-based crossovers. Powering the Xterra is a 4.0-liter V6 making 265 hp and mated to either a 5-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission — a feature not offered on the 4Runner. There are around 210 Xterras listed on Autotrader for around $10,000, and around 130 come with 4WD. There are also around 20 listed in either the Off-Road or PRO-4x trim. The manual transmission Xterra appears tough to come by, as there are only 7 listed at our price point. Find a Nissan Xterra for sale

2005-2015 Nissan Frontier

2005-2015 Nissan Frontier

A simple, old-school pickup, the Frontier available new on dealer lots has been on sale largely unchanged since 2005, and buyers can find a great deal on a used example. Powering the Frontier is either a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder or a 4.0-liter V6. Single, extended and crew cab models are offered, as are short and long beds and manual and automatic transmissions. Typically, the Frontier can be had for a few thousand dollars less than a comparable Toyota Tacoma, its closest competitor, making the Frontier a great midsize truck value. There are currently over 300 2005-2015 Frontiers listed on Autotrader for about $10,000. Over 100 of these have 4WD. Find a Nissan Frontier for sale
