Dodge and Clear Channel Media and Entertainment are joining forces to promote the 2013 Dodge Dart with a nationwide tour that combines music and radio personalities with test drives of the all-new compact sedan.
Called “The Road to Las Vegas,” the tour will visit 11 U.S. cities as Dodge “road-tripper” bloggers share the details of their journey at Facebook.com/Dodge. Test drive participants can win a trip to the iHeart Radio Music Festival at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, and one participant will win a one-off iHeart Dodge Dart featuring unique customizations by the recording artist Pitbull. Consumers that test drive the Dart at Dodge dealers will also be eligible to win.
The tour kicked off in Dallas on July 29 and includes stops in Phoenix (Aug. 4-5), Los Angeles (Aug. 10-12), San Antonio (Aug. 18), Orlando (Aug. 25), Atlanta (Aug. 31), Baltimore (Sept. 7), Brooklyn (Sept. 8) and Denver (Sept. 16). Detroit and Chicago will also be included, though dates for those cities have not yet been finalized.
The Dart, which debuted early this year at the Detroit Auto Show, shares underpinnings with a compact European-market Alfa Romeo model. Dodge offers three 4-cylinder engines, including a 1.4-liter turbo and a 184-horsepower 2.4-liter in the road/track (R/T). Inside, the Dart features a thin film transistor gauge cluster, which allows the driver to customize the display. Test drive participants will get a chance to see this and other features on the tour, says Reid Bigland, Dodge Car Brand President and CEO.
“The all-new Dodge Dart is a groundbreaking vehicle delivering features and benefits never before offered in a compact car,” said Bigland. “This promotion, featuring test-drive events in 11 cities across the United States and an ‘iHeart Dodge Dart’ customized by Pitbull, will allow consumers to personally experience the class-leading driving dynamics, style, roominess, and technology of the all-new Dart.”
Measuring 5.5-inches longer than the Ford Focus sedan, the Dart offers more rear-seat legroom and interior volume than many compact competitors. Pricing starts at $15,995 for the base SE model. Visit an event on “The Road to Las Vegas” tour or your local dealer for a test drive.
