The 2014 Lamborghini Gallardo marks the end of the line for the iconic exotic car, which has established itself as the brand’s base model since it debuted for the 2004 model year. An all-new Lambo, dubbed the Huracan, is slated to join the Aventador in the brand’s lineup next year, taking over the entry-level spot from the Gallardo.
But that doesn’t mean Lamborghini is letting the Gallardo fade away. On the contrary, the high-performance exotic is offering a new Squadra Corse special edition for 2014, which boasts a long list of high-performance upgrades and weight-saving measures. Unfortunately, sales are limited to just 15 units for the U.S., so you’ll have to act fast if you want one.
Speaking of fast, the Gallardo is all about speed. Regardless of which model you choose, from the base-level, rear-wheel-drive LP550-2 Coupe to the drop-top Gallardo Spyder or the new LP570-4 Squadra Corse, you’ll be rewarded with a muscular 5.2-liter V10 that makes somewhere between 540 and 560 horsepower, depending on the model. All Gallardo models use a 6-speed sequential manual transmission; some are rear-wheel-drive while others feature standard all-wheel drive.
If you’re interested in a 2014 Lamborghini Gallardo, you’ll need to start your search soon, as the Huracan is only a few months away from launching. Coupe prices range from around $183,000 for an LP550-2 to $260,000 for the new Squadra Corse. The Gallardo Spyder, meanwhile, starts around $210,000, while a top-of-the-line Performante model is closer to $252,000 after shipping.
